It is the policy of Permian Regional Medical Center to implement and maintain the hospital-wide infection control program that will reduce the risk of endemic, epidemic, and nosocomial infections in patients, staff, visitors, and others in the health care environment and the community.
The Infection Control Department of PRMC facilitates this policy by providing the following:
- Surveillance for epidemiologically significant organisms.
- Surveillance of surgical site infections.
- Education related to infectious disease processes and CDC guidelines.
- Reporting of infections as mandated by law to the Texas Department of Health.
- Outbreak Investigation.
